Xilai Gao’s “Anti-Fraud and Anti-Noncompliance” Initiative: Atomized Disinfection
Release time: 2019-07-30
Fogging disinfection is a commonly used disinfection method among livestock farmers. Particularly at this stage, feed mills and raw-material suppliers are adopting this approach to disinfect personnel and logistics channels. So, when it comes to combating African swine fever, is this disinfection method merely a form of self-comfort or an unnecessary extra measure for farmers, or is it actually an effective practice? Today, the Xilai Gao technical team will conduct detailed experimental tests and analyses for you, helping livestock farmers adopt the right methods to properly disinfect their farming sites and effectively fight against African swine fever.

A disinfection practice whose primary effect is... Determining factor There is: The selection of disinfectants, Adjust the concentration, The types of microorganisms targeted for killing, such as viruses and bacteria, Whether the disinfection method used is reasonable and Environmental temperature, etc.
As a commonly used disinfection method among livestock farmers, how can we ensure that nebulized disinfection is carried out in a standardized manner to achieve the intended purpose?
Our Xilai Gao technical team will provide you with a detailed analysis, combining the company’s existing technologies with the actual disinfection practices at your farm. We’re confident that, especially during this critical period of fighting African swine fever, we can help bring you the dawn of victory and ensure everyone’s well-being. Hold onto the “pigs,” and hold onto “real gold and silver.” !
Suitable places for nebulized disinfection
In various farms, feed mills, raw-material production plants, and other plant areas—especially pig farms—during the hot season, mist disinfection not only effectively sterilizes but also provides a cooling effect through atomization, truly achieving twice the result with half the effort.

Selection of Reagents for Fogging Disinfection
Reagent Selection Criteria:
1) Excellent antivirus performance;
2) No toxic side effects;
3) Economy;
4) Minimize livestock stress responses as much as possible;
5) Biochemical safety and environmental protection;
6) Easy operation, etc.;
The specificity of the current stage:
African swine fever virus—viral characteristics include: a large-molecule size (exceeding 200 nm), specificity to pigs only, high virulence, currently no available vaccine, and an optimal pH range of 4–11.4 with strong viral viability.
Let’s now analyze some commonly available disinfectants on the market in light of these performance requirements and the current industry challenges.
1) Povidone-iodine has been proven ineffective in eliminating the African swine fever virus and should not be used as a disinfectant option at this stage.
2) There is currently no data to support the use of quaternary ammonium compounds for inactivating the African swine fever virus, and we do not recommend their use.
3) When using glutaraldehyde or compound glutaraldehyde to inactivate the African swine fever virus, the concentration should be at least 1%, with 2% being the commonly recommended dosage! Taking 20% concentrated glutaraldehyde as an example, a 1% solution would require a dilution ratio of 1:19, while a 2% solution would require a dilution ratio of 1:9. Given that this disinfectant is economically inefficient and poses certain toxic risks to both humans and animals, we do not recommend its use.
4) Potassium peroxymonosulfate (approved by U.S. SUDA) has a minimum virucidal concentration of 1:800 against the African swine fever virus. If using the potassium peroxymonosulfate complex powder manufactured by Xilai Gao—trade name: “Feibang”—at a dilution ratio of 1:200, its pH value will be below 3 (while the African swine fever virus remains stable within a pH range of 4 to 11.4). Moreover, this product can disrupt the synthesis of ASFV’s nucleic acids or proteins and maintains an effective action time of at least 4 days even under ambient temperature conditions. Due to these multiple synergistic effects, it can effectively inactivate ASFV. Therefore, we recommend that everyone consider using potassium peroxymonosulfate and similar products as disinfectants. 。

In addition to selecting the appropriate disinfectant, we must also pay close attention to the stress response that nebulized disinfection may cause in pigs.
Today, pigs must contend with a variety of adverse factors—from the struggle against microorganisms such as viruses and bacteria, to the challenges posed by environmental factors, and even the internal struggles related to their own growth, production, and development—all of which can trigger stress responses in pigs.
If it is carried out at this time Does nebulized disinfection increase the stress resistance burden on pigs?
In fact, fellow pig farmers need not worry about this at all. First, we should place our trust in the pigs’ robust immune systems. Second, pig farmers have been effectively applying nutritional and health-care measures for their pigs—especially now that most pig farms are using scientifically formulated health-care products, such as Xilai Gao’s “Shuangwang Combination” or “Wei Ai Plan,” which significantly enhance the pigs’ stress resistance and boost their overall immunity by providing them with comprehensive and adequate nutrition. Finally, choosing innovative disinfectants like Xilai Gao’s “Feibang” offers excellent disinfection performance, broad-spectrum efficacy, and is safe with no toxic side effects.

Of course, any operation that fails to achieve the goal of eliminating pathogens will be considered an operational error! If you don’t want to make mistakes, feel free to reach out to Xilai Gao for assistance. Xilai Gao is committed to providing honest and reliable services to fellow farmers. Let’s join forces, work together to fight against African swine fever, seize the moment, and build a brighter future.
Here, the expert team from Xilai Gao has a few more recommendations for our aquaculture friends:
1. For personnel disinfection, measures such as washing, changing clothes, or isolation can be adopted. Subsequently, selecting an appropriate disinfectant (such as “Feibang”) and using it for nebulization disinfection can effectively help prevent the infection of pigs by ASFV and other viruses.
2. When disinfecting pig farms, it’s essential to give careful consideration to the stress factors affecting the pig herd. Pay close attention to ensuring a balanced and adequate nutritional intake for the pigs, thereby enhancing their innate disease resistance. Products such as the Viswan, Naijiawan, and Aijiafei series can effectively address these issues.
Summary:
Fighting African swine fever requires a comprehensive system—not just relying on the success of any single link in the chain to ensure peace of mind. We must address this issue from every possible angle, much like solving a math problem: When it comes to blocking sources of transmission—such as establishing quarantine zones and implementing insect control measures—we strive for 100% effectiveness; when it comes to eliminating the pathogen—such as thoroughly cleaning farms and disinfecting facilities—we also aim for 100% efficiency; and when it comes to boosting pigs’ immunity—such as providing clean feed and appropriate animal nutrition and health care—we again pursue 100% perfection. Only by tackling all these aspects systematically and perfecting the entire system can we overcome countless obstacles, bravely scale new heights, and truly stand atop all other mountains!
